Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou
At 8:30 in the morning, a private 4×4 car will pick you up from your Marrakech lodging, and you will travel over the High Atlas highlands to Ouarzazate. We will pass Tizi Ntichka Port, which is the highest point in our nation at 2,260 meters, on our route. Along the route, there will be stunning vistas to take in, and we’ll pause to snap photos of the Berber settlements. After that, we’ll go a short route to Telouat Kasbah.
After touring the kasbah, you’ll get some free time to savor some local cuisine in the town. We will proceed to the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou in the afternoon, where we will visit the renowned Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage). Along the way, you will see small Berber villages and families living in adobe houses lost in the mountains. Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara starring Penélope Cruz, and other well-known movies have all been filmed on this magnificent set.
We’re going to Ouarzazate, also called “The Gate of the Desert,” after we’ve visited the Kasbah. Dinner at our hotel room for the night.
Day2: Merzouga Desert – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley An evening in the Berber tent and a camel ride
Following breakfast, we’ll head into the Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s longest rivers. We pause along the route to snap photos and take in the stunning views of the Draa Valley and the kasbahs and Berber settlements that line the route. We’ll drive for two hours to arrive at the magnificent Merzouga dunes, giving you some free time for lunch at Nkob or Alnif. “Powdery dunes desert” There, we’ll swap out our motorized vehicles for an animal-drawn vehicle to travel far into the desert. When we arrive at the camp, we stay in camel hair tents, which are identical to those inhabited by nomad families.
Under a gorgeous starry sky, enjoy dinner and the night under the Berber tent.
Day3: Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi – Tisardmin Oasis – Nomad Families – Merzouga Desert
It’s a full day in the desert. “A date at first light” It is well worth getting up early if you are in the middle of a desert to take in the most breathtaking sunrise you have ever seen from the top of a dune near the camp and to take in this incredible, gift from nature.
We ride the camels back to Merzouga at sunrise, where a substantial breakfast awaits us. Next, we will avoid the Erg Chebbi, a vast stretch of sandy desert that is home to Morocco’s Big Dune, which is more than 250 meters high. Next, we proceed along the route that was once part of the “Paris – Dakar” and terminates in the mountains that border Agelia. A stop at the Tissardmin Oasis, where fossil quarries are still visible in the region, is followed by a route where we may observe nomadic communities and discover their customs and secrets. The next destination is a lookout point where you can reflect on the Erg Chebbi hole. Then, after traveling from Mali to Kamilia Village, we’ll enjoy a soothing cup of tea while taking in a concert of Gnawa spiritual music.
After arriving at your lodging, you have the afternoon to explore the town or watch the sunset from the dunes close to the hotel. Evening and dinner in the hotel.
Day4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Rissani – and Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we leave the desert and travel to Rissani, where we visit the market (open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). From there, we travel to Erfoud, where we may see the factories that make fossilized marble, and finally, we head to the Touroug and Tinjdad palm plantations. We will arrive in the Todra Gorges, one of the top locations in the High Atlas, an hour later. Because of its beauty and the steep rock sides, the river’s passage has carved out a canyon with cliff sides that is highly sought-after by climbers. Free time to eat lunch in this amazing location. To fully enjoy the splendor of the surroundings, it is highly recommended that you take a quick stroll through the gorges. We travel through Boumalne Dades and into the Dades valley in the afternoon, where we will pause at the “monkey legs.” This valley is also known as the figs valley. At the Dades Gorges for dinner and overnight.
Day5: Merzouga – Dades Gorges – Roses Valley – Marrakech
Following breakfast, we may take in one of the best views of the Dades Valley from a strategically located lookout atop a mountain. From there, we can take in the vast array of kasbahs and their individual picturesque qualities. Next, we pass a road dot that has several interesting kasbahs for tourists to see. We will go to Ouarzazate to explore the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former home of the Glaoui or Marrakech pasha, after making a few stops to enjoy the “One Thousand Kasbahs Road,” the Roses Valley, and the large Skoura palm grove. Additionally, if you’re interested, we can tour the Tue Cinema Museum and the film studios. Lunch in town is on the menu. We begin our journey back to Marrakech in the afternoon, passing through the mountain port of Tizi N’Tichka and making several stops for photos along the way. Here, we move past the lunar terrain to a more colorful vista. By 6 p.m., we will arrive in Marrakech, make our hotel reservation, and conclude our services.
